Experienced QA – Super Rare Games

Salary Range : £25K - £30K (Depending on Experience)

Position Overview

The QA Tester will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our digital ‘Originals’ and ‘Classic’ physical releases through rigorous testing and quality assessment processes.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leading QA efforts, designing comprehensive test strategies, recording and logging bugs in JIRA and liaising with our wonderful worldwide developers and QA team members.

What you’ll do

  • Take ownership of all testing equipment - maintenance and use.

  • Liaise with developers to ascertain testing specs and develop test plans.

  • Progress tracking and reporting to Production every week.

  • Monitoring and maintaining JIRA boards for all projects.

  • Vetting and ensuring high quality bug reports including: a detailed description, accurate reproduction steps and severity rating, etc. according to company standards.

  • Facilitating communication between QA and our developers regarding testing information and general feedback (this will usually be via Slack, Discord or Google Meet).

  • Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency of testing execution.

You'll have

  • Confident use of console development kits: Sony PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, etc.

  • Bug tracking software experience e.g. JIRA, Monday, GitHub, etc.

  • Passion for playing video games with the ability to familiarise with game-play elements rapidly.

  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to various stakeholders.

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks.

  • Proven ability to collaborate with different teams and groups across the organisation.

  • Proven work experience in software quality assurance including hands-on experience with manual and automated testing.

  • Experience in writing clear, concise and comprehensive test plans and test cases.

  • Excellent time management and organisational skills

  • 1+ years experience in Functional Games QA

  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications

  • Experience with platform submission processes (PlayStation, Nintendo, Xbox, etc.)

Role Requirement

  • The position is a full-time role based in our London office. We are not currently looking for fully remote candidates (sorry!)

The Experienced QA will report to Jason – our Head of Serious Stuff and work closely with the Development team, Production department, and Game developers. The role offers the opportunity to grow professionally within the company and contribute to smooth production of some exciting Indie titles.
